Prevost Expands Its Service Network in Illinois
Prevost, a leading motorcoach manufacturer and part of the Volvo Group, has recently announced the official opening of a new service center in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. This $8.1 million investment aims to enhance service capacity and improve convenience for customers in the greater Chicago area, marking a significant milestone in the company's continuous expansion efforts.
Strategic Location for Enhanced Accessibility
Located near the bustling O'Hare International Airport and major expressways, the new service center offers easy access for both customers and technicians. With this expansion, Prevost aims to strengthen its service presence within this key market, making it easier for customers to receive the support they need. According to Kevin Dawson, Vice President of Commercial Operations, this new facility showcases Prevost's commitment to bolstering its service network in the years to come. He stated, “Through this investment, Prevost is enhancing service capacity, improving the customer experience and helping keep coaches on the road.”
Expansive Facilities to Serve Customers Better
The new center boasts an impressive increase in space, expanding from its previous 9,000 square feet to approximately 29,000 square feet. Additionally, parts storage capacity will grow from 800 square feet to nearly 15,000 square feet, allowing for quicker and more efficient service times. Service capacity is also set to increase from three service bays to five, promoting faster turnaround times for repairs and enhanced customer support.
Rob Senne, the branch manager, expressed enthusiasm over the new facilities, saying, “This new service center… marks a major step forward in our ability to support customers. With significantly more space, greater service capacity, and a location designed around customer convenience, we are well-positioned to deliver the high level of support Prevost customers count on.”
Modern Amenities and Continuous Support
The newly erected service center is built with state-of-the-art technology, introducing customer-focused amenities such as a comfortable lounge area and leased parking for 60 vehicles, further enhancing the experience for incoming customers. Notably, the site will also operate with ten mobile service vans and provide a technician available 24/7, ensuring robust field support and quick response times.
Extended operating hours are anticipated and will be disclosed in future announcements, significantly bolstering the service potential available at Prevost’s Elk Grove Village location.
Economic Impact and Commitment to Growth
This recent investment by Prevost is not only about expanding its service network; it signifies a commitment to the economic growth of Illinois. With trade between Québec and Illinois increasing by over 40% in the last five years, reaching $3.8 billion USD in 2025, the new facility is a testament to the enduring strength of the partnership between Québec and the Midwest.
Jean-François Hould, the Québec Government Delegate to the Midwest, commented, “We are excited to see Prevost's continued investment in the United States and its commitment to economic growth in Illinois.” Elk Grove Village Mayor Craig Johnson echoed this sentiment, stating, “Their decision to invest $8 million in a new facility here speaks to the strength of our business community.”
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker also reaffirmed this sentiment, recognizing Elk Grove Village’s strategic positioning to support growing companies like Prevost due to its world-class infrastructure and transportation network. “With proximity to Illinois' world-class infrastructure… Elk Grove Village offers the connectivity global companies need to grow and serve customers across the region,” he remarked.
Forward-looking Vision for Prevost
The opening of the Elk Grove Village service center is part of a larger strategic initiative to expand Prevost’s service network across North America. In addition to this Illinois location, Prevost plans to introduce a mobile service unit in Las Vegas, Nevada, and a new facility in Randleman, North Carolina, which is expected to open in early 2027.
As one of North America's largest producers of intercity touring coaches, Prevost has built a legacy of innovation, safety, and sustainability. The company has made a tremendous impact on the motorcoach industry and has shown unwavering commitment to excellent customer service through its extensive service network, all backed by over 260 years of combined industry experience.
