OPC Energy's CPV Secures $825 Million Financing for Power Plants Expansion

OPC Energy's CPV Secures Financing

On October 27, 2026, OPC Energy (TASE: OPCE), a prominent independent power producer operating in both Israel and the U.S., made headlines with the announcement of a significant financing agreement by its subsidiary, CPV Generation Holdings, LLC. The deal, which totals $825 million, is aimed primarily at its wholly owned Shore and Maryland power plants, located in the competitive PJM electricity market in the United States.

What's in the Financing Package?

The financing package is structured to optimize financial efficiency by consolidating existing project-level debts into a single facility. This new structure is designed not only to refinance existing debts but also to ensure enhanced financial flexibility. Notably, the financing includes a $625 million term loan, a $125 million letter of credit facility, and a $75 million revolving credit facility.

Key Financial Highlights

  • - Term Loan: The term loan of $625 million will accrue interest at a competitive SOFR plus 2.5%, reflecting a 75-basis-point reduction from a previous rate of 3.25%. This change illustrates the current favorable market conditions and the effective execution of OPC's operational strategies.
  • - Letter of Credit Facility: The $125 million letter of credit supports the operational and collateral requirements of the plants.
  • - Revolving Credit Facility: The $75 million revolving credit facility offers liquidity options for the organization, allowing for cash borrowings or letters of credit.

These arrangements will be critical in ensuring that the Shore and Maryland facilities, with generation capacities of 725 MW and 745 MW respectively, continue to operate efficiently and meet current energy demands.

Why This Financing Matters

Giora Almogy, CEO of OPC Energy, emphasized that this refinancing will bolster the value of their power plants, ensuring operational and financial synergies are fully realized. He highlighted that with this agreement, CPV has taken another significant step towards achieving complete ownership and efficiency across its energy assets, which now include three plants in the U.S.

Ana Berenstein Shvartsman, the CFO of OPC Energy, stated, “This agreement signifies our disciplined approach to capital management. It enhances our financial flexibility, ensures the ongoing operational needs of our facilities are met, and supports our strategic growth objectives.” The planned distribution of a $130 million dividend to the CPV Group upon closure signifies confidence in the project’s future value.

Looking Forward

As OPC Energy continues to expand its footprint within the Energy Transition space, the implications of this financing deal extend beyond immediate financial benefits. The strategic consolidation also highlights the company's commitment to increasing its functional efficiency and overall market positioning.

In both Israel and the U.S., OPC's approach combines reliable, efficient electricity generation with a growing focus on renewable energy solutions. The company is already recognized as a leader among private electricity producers in Israel, continuously enhancing its generation capacity while addressing the evolving needs of energy consumers.

With over 25 years of experience in the development and operation of low-emission power generation projects, CPV is keen on further leveraging its extensive portfolio, which currently encompasses around 15 GW of renewable and natural gas projects.

This latest financing marks a pivotal moment for OPC Energy and CPV, setting a robust foundation for future growth while aligning with sustainable energy goals.
