Haier Unveils Horizon Refrigerator in Vietnam



On June 2, 2026, Haier proudly announced the launch of its Horizon refrigerator series in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The launch event, held on May 29, marks the first phase of expanding the Horizon series into the Southeast Asian market, following its earlier introduction in Europe and the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, England.

Addressing Local Needs with Innovative Features



Vietnam’s tropical climate, characterized by high temperature and humidity, necessitates effective solutions for preserving beverages and fresh produce. The Horizon series is equipped with advanced freshness-preserving technologies designed to cater to everyday needs, featuring four user scenarios tailored to local conditions. Among these innovations is the HCS (Humidity Control System) technology and magnetic freshness solutions, which can maintain the freshness of fruits and vegetables for up to 7 days and meat for up to 10 days.

The refrigerator’s capabilities have not gone unnoticed, receiving the Gold Medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva and a VDE certification, which highlights its superior protein preservation in meat. Another notable feature is the integrated ice-making system located in the door, separated entirely from the food storage compartment. This design minimizes cross-contamination of odors while ensuring quick production of pure ice.

With a generous capacity of 716 liters, adjustable shelves, and deep door bins, the Horizon refrigerator can store a week’s worth of groceries for entire families, including towering 1.5-liter bottles. Furthermore, selected models incorporate AI Vision technology, which automatically identifies and monitors the types and quantities of food items, simplifying food management for users.

Space Fit Solutions and AI Technology



In addition to the Horizon series, Haier introduced its Space Fit solutions, which utilize AI technology to maintain optimal freshness throughout the refrigerator. This system limits temperature fluctuations to less than 1°C, ensuring that items like steaks remain tender, juicy, and retain their red color and nutritional value even after a month of freezing.

Vietnam’s Position as a Premium Market

As the largest market for premium refrigerators in Southeast Asia, Vietnam accounts for over half of the region's sales. Haier has seen considerable success in this market, with sales in January 2026 doubling month-over-month and increasing by over 60% year-over-year. Customers in retail outlets can experience the company's cooling and freshness-preserving technologies firsthand, which directly influences sales performance. The introduction of Space Fit solutions has resulted in five times the sales compared to previous offerings, further propelling the growth of smart home segments within Vietnam.

Haier is a key player in Vietnam’s appliance market, leading in both sales and growth dynamics. Data up to April 2026 shows that Haier ranks first in terms of total market share among brands in Southeast Asia, with over 40% growth observed in Vietnam, Malaysia, and other regional countries.
