Crayola Announces First Global Ambassadors for Creativity Week Celebrations in Schools

Crayola's Creativity Week Global Ambassadors

Creative expression is a powerful tool in education, and Crayola is taking a bold step forward to celebrate this idea. Recently, Crayola unveiled its first group of Global Ambassadors for the Creativity Week, set to take place from January 26 to February 1, 2026. This initiative aims to highlight the importance of creativity in educational settings and showcase success stories from around the world.

A Worldwide Selection

Crayola received over 1,200 applications from schools across 11 countries, including the United States, New Zealand, Canada, and Italy. The selected 31 schools represent a diverse array of cultures and educational philosophies, emphasizing the universal value of creativity in learning. These schools have been recognized for their commitment to fostering creative environments that inspire students.

The Creativity Week event is not just a celebration but a call to action for educators and parents alike. Crayola's program intends to promote creativity as a fundamental aspect of education, which can aid in student development and encourage a positive school culture.

Engaging Activities for All

Throughout the week, students will participate in various themed activities designed to enhance their reading, writing, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), and social-emotional skills. More than 140 countries will be involved, making this a truly global event. The activities will provide practical experiences for students, enabling them to engage and express themselves in innovative ways.

Moreover, the ambassadors from the chosen schools will have the unique opportunity to share their experiences and strategies for integrating creativity into their curricula. They will provide valuable insights that can help other educators around the world enrich their teaching methods.

Resources for Creativity

Crayola has developed a robust suite of resources for educators participating in Creativity Week. These resources are accessible in eight different languages and include inspiring and interactive content that is aimed at various age groups. This content will be delivered by renowned creative figures, ensuring that participants receive high-quality instruction and motivation.

To further incentivize engagement, daily prizes will be awarded, adding an element of excitement to the activities planned for this week of creativity.

A Celebration of Innovation

The week will culminate in a live-streamed school assembly, allowing participants to connect with each other and celebrate creativity on a global scale. This gathering will provide a platform for sharing creative work and learning experiences, fostering a sense of community among students and educators.

Cheri Sterman, Crayola's Senior Director of Education, emphasized the significance of creativity, stating, "It is a fundamental skill for child development and lifelong success. Our Global Ambassadors exemplify how schools can make creativity a cornerstone of their teaching practices across disciplines."

The Journey Ahead

Crayola's Creativity Week is part of the broader Campaign for Creativity, a global initiative designed to advocate for the role of creativity in child development and lifelong learning. As educators, parents, and students look forward to this exciting week, the initiative promises to be a transformative experience for all involved.
