CurTec USA's $10 Million Investment Expands Manufacturing in South Carolina
CurTec Expands Manufacturing Capacity in Westminster, S.C.
CurTec USA has announced a strategic investment of $10 million aimed at expanding its operations in Westminster, South Carolina. This bold move will not only create 10 new jobs but will also significantly increase the company's warehouse and production capabilities. The expansion project is set to add around 27,300 square feet of space, enhancing the total warehouse area and incorporating over 2,000 pallet positions.
Project Overview
The groundbreaking for this ambitious project is expected to take place in October 2026, with the completion anticipated by the second quarter of 2027. This expansion is a part of CurTec's ongoing commitment to strengthening its production capacity and meeting the growing demand from its customers across North America.
CEO Bart van Berkel expressed enthusiasm about the investment, stating, "When we opened Westminster in 2023, our goal was to get closer to North American customers and create a platform for growth. This expansion reinforces local production, inventory, and supply reliability, while broadening the range of products we manufacture in the United States."
Enhancements to Local Production
The new development includes the introduction of a blow molding line, which will drastically enhance production capacity and allow for the manufacturing of smaller packaging sizes—a necessity in today’s marketplace. CurTec plans to produce 6- and 10-liter Click Pack pails at the Westminster facility before the end of the year, followed by smaller Wide Neck Drums in 2027. Operations Director Roy Kuipers highlighted that this combination of increased production and warehousing flexibility allows the company to respond more efficiently to customer demands.
Commitment to Local Workforce
Martin Lamar, the Site Director for CurTec in the USA, indicated that the Westminster facility was initially designed with future growth in mind. The addition of capacity and capability will not only enhance the company's operational efficiency but will also positively impact the local workforce. The partnership between CurTec and the surrounding community plays a key role in the company's strategic growth plans.
Jamie Gilbert, President and CEO of the Oconee Economic Alliance, acknowledged the significant impact of CurTec's expansion, stating, "It is another 'Top Shelf for Business' day in Oconee County. Just three years after opening the facility, this investment reflects CurTec's confidence in our workforce and business climate. We value our partnership and look forward to CurTec's continued growth in our community."
