A Track Record of Success



Before joining Utility Global, Meuleman served as CTO at ION Clean Energy, a role he held since 2016. Under his leadership, the company transitioned from a research-focused entity into a cohesive product development organization that concentrated on commercial viability, significantly scaling its engineering team from six to 25 without losing personnel. Meuleman directed system-level optimizations that reduced carbon capture capital costs by 30% and operational costs by 15%, while also cutting solvent recovery needs by an impressive 90%.

His prior experience includes a tenure at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Australia, where he led teams of up to 25 researchers in advancing carbon capture technologies from initial development stages to pilot-scale implementations. During his time there, he contributed to the filing of over 15 patents and supported the creation of four pilot plants. Early in his career, he initiated and directed the development of separation technologies at TNO within multinational research programs.

Meuleman holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Technology from the University of Twente in the Netherlands, a solid foundation that equips him to bridge the gap between laboratory advancements and real-world industrial applications.
