SINEXCEL Drives Latvia's Largest Wind Energy Storage Investment with 1725kW PCS System
SINEXCEL Fuels Latvia's Largest Wind Farm Energy Storage Project
On April 28, 2026, in Tārgale, Latvia, SINEXCEL, a Tier 1 power inverter manufacturer ranked by BloombergNEF, announced a significant advance in renewable energy by delivering twelve Power Conversion Systems (PCS) with a capacity of 1725 kW. This technology is now operational at what has become the largest wind energy storage investment in Latvia.
The energy storage system, boasting a capacity of 20.64 MWh, has come online at the Tārgale wind farm and is designed to actively participate in local balancing services. This project holds the distinction of being the first in the Baltic region to qualify for all frequency regulation services, highlighting a pivotal achievement in grid stability and integration of renewable energy sources in Baltic states.
High-Performance PCS 1725 kW
The SINEXCEL PCS 1725 kW system ensures maximum conversion efficiency of 98.5%, with response times measured in milliseconds. This efficiency is crucial for providing essential grid-balancing services, including frequency regulation and voltage control, while meeting low and high voltage ride-through requirements (L/HVRT). The system is constructed to withstand demanding conditions, featuring an IP-54 rated enclosure that guarantees reliable operation within temperature ranges from -20°C to 60°C.
Having full CE certification, the PCS complies with VDE 4110/4120 and EN 50549 standards for the European market. Furthermore, it has received additional certifications conforming to grid codes in the United States, Australia, Japan, and Thailand—making it suitable for public utility projects across these major markets. The intelligent battery branch connector mitigates the risk of circulating currents among parallel branches, maintaining optimal battery health. The fully modular architecture enables on-site replacement of individual power modules without needing to shut down the entire system, minimizing downtime for maintenance and lowering long-term operational costs.
Large-Scale Proven Platform
The Tārgale investment further enhances the momentum behind the commercial application of 1725 kW systems. To date, total deliveries of 1725 kW PCS systems have surpassed 1 GW, underscoring their reputable standing in the market, reliable performance, and adaptability to varied regulatory and climatic conditions. This installation solidifies SINEXCEL's established capabilities within public utility energy storage projects globally.
Notably, this deployment bolsters SINEXCEL's status as a trusted partner in the global energy storage market. With certifications in over 40 countries and an installed capacity of 17 GW/50 GWh across more than 5,000 projects, SINEXCEL stands at the forefront of energy transformation worldwide. The company is fully dedicated to driving this global energy transition.
Established in 2007, SINEXCEL is a pioneer in the energy storage sector, electric vehicle charging systems, and providing high-quality energy solutions.
