GAC Unveils AION UT Cross at the Paris Motor Show 2026
On October 12, 2026, the highly anticipated 91st Paris Motor Show kicked off at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, bringing together automotive enthusiasts and industry leaders from around the globe. Among the standout exhibits was the
AION UT Cross, making its global debut, and exemplifying GAC's effort to cater to the European market with innovation and style.
The AION UT Cross is an all-terrain electric crossover that blends the agility of a hatchback with the spaciousness of a wagon and the rugged performance of an SUV. Designed at GAC's Milan design center, its sleek aesthetics and exclusive Cross package are tailored to meet European tastes and lifestyles. Whether for urban commutes or countryside adventures, this vehicle promises versatility.
Safety and Design
One of the key highlights of the AION UT Cross is its commitment to safety. With 71% of its body constructed with high-strength steel, the vehicle is built to protect its occupants. Key features include a 2.1-meter V-shaped side curtain airbag and a highly secure “Magazine” battery pack, ensuring comprehensive safety for passengers.
The vehicle features an impressive wheelbase of 2,750 mm, the longest in its category, providing a generous trunk volume of 440 liters. The rear seats fold down to create a flat loading space, complemented by 24 storage compartments and a roof rack, perfect for camping gear and outdoor equipment. Not only does it excel in storage, but its chassis has been specifically adapted for European road conditions, with a ground clearance of 147 mm, ensuring a smooth ride in both city and rural settings.
Performance and Range
In terms of performance, the AION UT Cross offers a
WLTP range of up to 400 km, making it ideal for longer journeys. Rapid charging capabilities further enhance its practicality, allowing the battery to recharge from 30% to 80% in just 24 minutes. This innovation makes it a practical choice for the environmentally conscious driver who values efficiency and convenience.
Expanding Product Lineup
In addition to the AION UT Cross, GAC showcased the popular AION UT and AION V models, both of which are locally manufactured in Europe and have received a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP. This illustrates GAC's dedication to providing vehicles that are built and tested according to European standards.
Looking ahead, GAC plans to expand its product offerings in Europe with the launch of additional strategic models such as the
HYPTEC HT and the
GAC GS7 PHEV. By addressing the real needs of European consumers, GAC aims to continue producing new energy vehicles that are tailored to local markets while providing a wider variety of mobility solutions.
