Geotab Honors Innovative European Fleets at Connect Europe 2026 in Barcelona

Celebrating European Fleet Innovations at Geotab Connect Europe 2026

In an exciting announcement at the Geotab Connect Europe 2026 conference held in Barcelona, Geotab, a leading provider of connected transportation solutions, revealed the winners of the inaugural Geotab Innovation Awards. These awards recognize five European companies that have made significant strides in fleet management through connected vehicle data, enhancing safety, productivity, sustainability, and operational efficiency.

The European landscape for fleet management is notably challenging, characterized by diverse regulatory frameworks and a pressing need for decarbonization. Edward Kulperger, Geotab's Senior Vice President for EMEA, emphasized the complex environment in which these fleets operate and highlighted how the award-winning companies exemplify the substantial difference that data-driven decisions can make in real-world applications. "They are setting new standards for the region," he stated.

The Award-Winning Fleets

1. Richfords (UK) - Safety Champion
Richfords specializes in fire and flood damage restoration across Southern England and has emerged as this year’s Safety Champion. After a successful pilot project utilizing Geotab's Vitality program, where 20 drivers participated, the company expanded this initiative fleet-wide for its 53 vehicles. Following the pilot, Richfords saw a remarkable 59% improvement in safe driving behavior and a 22% reduction in collision risk, achieving an impressive ROI of 411%.

2. Go-Ahead Group (UK, Ireland) - Maintenance Champion
Operating one of the largest public transport networks in the UK with roughly 6,150 buses, the Go-Ahead Group has harnessed Geotab's telematics solutions for real-time monitoring of vehicle faults. Their engineering team is able to promptly notify drivers about critical issues, preventing costly engine and transmission failures. This initiative has saved significant costs, with up to £20,000 saved per avoided engine failure.

3. Picnic (Netherlands, Germany, France) - Sustainability Champion
The rapidly growing online grocery service, Picnic, operates a fleet of over 5,000 fully-electric delivery vehicles. They developed a Vehicle-to-Trip algorithm based on Geotab data to optimally plan delivery routes. This innovative approach has led to a 5% to 13% reduction in fleet size while enhancing delivery efficiency and lowering energy consumption.

4. Marymantes Speed SRL (Spain) - Productivity Champion
Based in Zaragoza, this logistics company achieved a 10% productivity increase through the implementation of Geotab's tachograph system, facilitating real-time monitoring of driver working hours while ensuring full compliance with Spanish labor laws. Their practices, validated by a regulatory review, underscore the effectiveness of their fleet management strategies.

5. Barhale (UK) - Marketplace AI Champion
As a leading UK construction and infrastructure service provider, Barhale utilized Geotab's telematics integrated with AI-based SureCam video analysis to reduce preventable accidents by 8.8% and cut insurance costs by 2.7%, even with a 40% increase in fleet size.

These awards serve to acknowledge the innovative techniques and strategies employed by these companies in enhancing fleet operations across Europe. A panel of experts in fleet management and data analytics from Geotab evaluated the winners based on measurable outcomes, operational improvements, and the degree of innovation.

The Geotab Innovation Awards highlight the company's commitment to promoting a safer, more efficient, and sustainable future for transportation. For more information on the Geotab Connect Europe 2026 event and its awards, visit Geotab’s official website.
