In a strategic move towards global green energy expansion, SANY has launched its first hydrogen refueling project in Australia. This initiative marks a pivotal moment for SANY, as it is the first time the company has introduced its advanced hydrogen technology to the international stage.
In April 2024, SANY formed a strategic alliance with an Australian client. This partnership not only showcases SANY's commitment to green energy solutions but also represents the company’s expansion beyond its base in China, where it has established the largest integrated production and hydrogen refueling station. This state-of-the-art refueling station was officially delivered to the Australian customer on May 20, 2025, contributing to a significant leap in the international adoption of green energy technologies.
Cutting-Edge Hydrogen Technology
The hydrogen refueling project utilizes SANY’s industry-leading flexible electrolytic hydrogen production technology, which is complemented by an extensive control system. This approach ensures efficient and stable operations, capable of meeting the hydrogen refueling needs of heavy-duty vehicles as well as passenger cars. The refueling station boasts two charging stages and can store hydrogen at pressures of 50 MPa and 90 MPa. This unique setup enables it to service vehicles equipped for hydrogen needs at both 35 MPa and 70 MPa, allowing for rapid and secure refueling for various transportation applications.
Meeting International Standards
To facilitate a smooth entry into the Australian market, SANY's hydrogen refueling project adheres strictly to local market standards. The installation has received full certification from industry regulatory bodies such as Bureau Veritas and TÜV SÜD, ensuring compliance with the highest safety standards. For instance, the electric safety certification adheres to Australia’s AS 3000 standard at Class 2. Furthermore, both the pressure vessels are certified under ASME and AS1200, confirming their compliance with both American and Australian standards.
