Robert G.G. Piccinini Becomes AOA's 129th President



On July 24, 2025, Robert G.G. Piccinini, DO, D.FACN, was inaugurated as the 129th President of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) during the organization's Annual Business Meeting in Chicago. Marking a historic milestone, Dr. Piccinini is the first psychiatrist to assume the presidency in AOA's long-standing tradition. This event reflects not only a personal achievement for Dr. Piccinini but also a significant shift in leadership dynamics within the organization.

Looking ahead, the AOA also announced Richard Thacker, DO, MACOI, as the President-Elect. A respected figure in the field of osteopathic internal medicine and associated with the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Thacker will begin his presidency in July 2026, further ensuring a legacy of strong leadership within the organization.
