In an exciting update, Asken, a leading AI meal management application boasting over 12 million members, has launched a new feature that allows users to share their meal records with other Asken users. Located in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Asken's development company, Asuken Corp., is led by CEO Hiroshi Nakajima.
Meal Sharing Feature Overview
The Meal Sharing feature enables users to easily share their recorded meal details using a QR code. Users who want to share their meal information can display the two-dimensional code for others to scan. Once the recipient scans the QR code, the same meal record will appear in their Asken app. Additionally, the receiver can adjust specifics such as the date, food type, quantities, and ingredients, simplifying the process of recording meals.
Please note that users who have set group codes are currently unable to use this feature. Also, make sure to update the Asken app to the latest version to access this feature.
This functionality arose from user feedback wishing for an easier way to share meal records with family and friends. With this feature, Asken aims to make meal tracking more user-friendly and to encourage users to think about nutrition in a fun and engaging way, ultimately supporting healthier eating habits.
Enhanced AI Image Analysis
In a further stride toward improving user experience, Asken's AI Image Analysis feature has witnessed a significant 25% increase in accuracy thanks to the integration of generative AI techniques. This upgrade ensures that users can simply take photos of their meals, and the app will automatically analyze the images, identifying the food items. Users can expect a greater number of recognizable products, including store names and product labels, creating a more extensive menu database.
Ongoing Improvements for AI Image Analysis
Asken Corp. has committed to continuously enhancing the AI Image Analysis feature. Starting December 2024, they will initiate the "Everyone’s Photos for Improvement! Asken Shot Project". The first phase of this initiative involved refreshing the image analysis engine. Despite earlier improvements, feedback from customers’ social media posts and reviews indicated that further refinements were necessary. After thorough discussions, Asken decided to optimize its image analysis algorithm based on user meal images and apply generative AI technologies for advanced recognition capabilities. Following approximately four months of rigorous testing and tuning, the improved image analysis accuracy is now ready for user deployment.
This feature is available for new members for a limited time—seven days after registration—and for users who subscribe to the Asken Premium Service, which offers personalized meal advice, enhanced AI analysis, and various diet advice courses tailored to individual goals.
