Patriots QB Drake Maye and Ann Michael to Lead Granite's 13th Annual Fundraiser for Boston Children's Hospital

Granite Telecommunications is gearing up for its highly anticipated 13th annual "Saving by Shaving" event, a charity initiative specifically aimed at funding pediatric research and treatments at Boston Children's Hospital. Scheduled for March 31, 2026, this event promises an inspiring day of community engagement, featuring prominent local leaders, celebrities, and sports stars, all coming together to support a noble cause.

At the heart of this year’s event will be New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and his wife, Ann Michael Maye, who serve as the event's headline guests. The gathering will occur at Granite's headquarters in Quincy, Massachusetts, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. While the event is not open to the general public, media personnel who wish to cover the event are welcome, provided they register in advance.

Granite's "Saving by Shaving" initiative has made a significant impact over the past 12 years, raising over $58.5 million for medical research and treatment through the collective efforts of more than 12,000 participants who have shaved their heads or donated their hair. Each head shaved or hair donation contributes significantly to the cause; Granite commits to donating $2,500 per participant, which the Hale family matches, resulting in a total contribution of $5,000 per shaved head to The Every Child Fund at Boston Children’s Hospital.

The schedule for the event includes the arrival of community leaders and celebrities at 8:45 a.m., followed by an introduction of special guests by Greg Hill, the renowned host of WEEI's The Greg Hill Morning Show, at 9:15 a.m. At 9:45 a.m., there will be a check presentation to Boston Children's Hospital, marking a pivotal moment in the day’s events.

As emphasized by Melanie Richards, Chair of Granite Gives Back, the event is not merely about fundraising but also about providing emotional support and solidarity to children and families enduring tough health battles. “Every shave and every donation reminds patients and families that they're not alone. Saving by Shaving is our chance to bring hope to children facing their hardest moments and to lift up the incredible work of Boston Children's Hospital,” Richards noted.

Granite Telecommunications is not just a business but a company that has intertwined philanthropy into its corporate identity. Under the stewardship of CEO Rob Hale, the company has made substantial contributions exceeding $400 million towards various charitable endeavors over its 24-year history, establishing itself as one of the most philanthropic organizations in Massachusetts.

Boston Children's Hospital, the beneficiary of this charity event, has earned a reputation as one of the top children's hospitals in the United States as ranked by U.S. News & World Report. The hospital stands out not just for its comprehensive pediatric care but also for its pioneering research. It has played a significant role in pediatric innovation, with a research community comprised of 6,500 staff and groundbreaking scientists dedicated to overcoming both common and rare diseases affecting children and adolescents.
