FirstEnergy Expands Leadership with Hannah Turner as VP of Transmission Finance

FirstEnergy Expands Leadership Team with New Appointment

FirstEnergy Corp., a major player in the electric utilities sector, has announced the addition of Hannah Turner to its leadership team as the new Vice President of Transmission Finance. In this role, she will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and regulatory support for FirstEnergy Transmission LLC (FET), Keystone Appalachian Transmission Company (KATCo), and other integrated transmission businesses under the FirstEnergy umbrella. This strategic appointment is positioned to enable FirstEnergy to enhance its financial strategy and operational efficiencies.

Turner, who will also hold the title of Principal Financial Officer for FirstEnergy Transmission starting March 1, 2026, comes on board at a critical juncture for the company. FirstEnergy is currently navigating multiyear joint ventures such as the Valley Link Transmission project in partnership with Dominion Energy and Transource Energy. Additionally, the formation of other initiatives like the Grid Growth Ventures joint venture aims to bolster the overall strength of the regional power grid through strategic investments and collaborations.

In her new capacity, Turner will lead financial planning and reporting strategies for FirstEnergy's transmission sector. She will serve as the main financial liaison between the transmission board and investors, while also managing a team responsible for establishing transmission rates and overseeing compliance in regulatory filings. Her role will necessitate collaboration with both internal and external partners to mitigate strategic, financial, and operational risks, fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Hannah Turner's experience in the energy sector, particularly with Electric Transmission Texas (ETT), will be instrumental at FirstEnergy. As the former President of ETT, she successfully led a multibillion-dollar organization, enhancing governance frameworks and promoting system resilience initiatives. Her prior role as Vice President of Finance and Regulatory at ETT involved directing financial planning and compliance programs that significantly streamlined operational performance and reporting processes.

Before her successful tenure at ETT, Turner gathered valuable experience at American Electric Power, where she played a pivotal role in aligning financial structures with regulatory strategies across various joint ventures. This extensive background aligns perfectly with FirstEnergy's goals of fostering regional collaboration and comprehensive long-term planning.

Mark Mroczynski, President of Transmission at FirstEnergy, expressed enthusiasm regarding Turner's appointment. He emphasized that her proven capabilities in steering major transmission organizations and navigating complex regulatory landscapes would serve as a tremendous asset to the team. Mroczynski noted, "Hannah's strategic and collaborative approach will strengthen our financial foundation and support continued growth. I am confident she will quickly make a positive impact for our customers and stakeholders."

Turner holds both a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration from LeTourneau University, equipping her with a robust educational foundation to lead financial strategies in transmission operations. As FirstEnergy continues to expand its footprint in the energy sector, the company anticipates that Turner’s leadership will play a critical role in achieving its operational and financial objectives.

With a mission focused on delivering reliable energy solutions to over six million customers across several states, FirstEnergy operates a vast network of 24,000 miles of transmission lines that connect the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions.
