Rally Jameel 2025: Celebrating Women's Empowerment in Motorsport

Rally Jameel 2025 - A Historic Edition

The fourth edition of Rally Jameel, the groundbreaking women-only navigational rally in the Middle East, came to an exhilarating conclusion on April 27, 2025. Presented under the esteemed patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al Qassim Province, this year’s rally marked a monumental expansion as it introduced cross-border competition, starting in the ancient city of Petra, Jordan, and culminating in Al Qassim, Saudi Arabia.

A Journey of Skill and Culture

The rally brought together 41 teams from 37 different countries, showcasing the global reach of this female-centric motorsport event. Among the participants, Reem Al Aboud from Saudi Arabia and Hanna Riehle from Germany took the top spot. They navigated their Toyota Land Cruiser Prado through challenging terrains that spanned over 1,600 kilometers. Their win underscores not only their driving prowess but also the spirit of resilience and determination that defined the competition.

Following closely was the duo of Mashael Alhowaish of Saudi Arabia and Taye Perry from South Africa in a Lexus RX 500H, who secured second place. The third position was claimed by Farah Zakaria and Farah Ateyyat from Jordan, driving a Toyota Fortuner under the banner of Al Markazia Toyota.

Empowering Women through Motorsport

Jameel Motorsport, the organizer of Rally Jameel and part of Abdul Latif Jameel Motors, noted the event’s growing significance in promoting women in motorsports. With support from various organizations, including the FIA Women in Motorsport and the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, the rally continues to be a beacon for women seeking to break barriers in a traditionally male-dominated field. Munir Khoja, Managing Director of Jameel Motorsport, emphasized how the event aligns with the ambitious goals of Vision 2030. He reflected on the evolving narratives in Saudi Arabia, where women are increasingly stepping into leadership roles in various sectors, particularly motorsport.

Reem Al Aboud expressed her pride in achieving victory, highlighting that the success was a result of strategic decisions and the relentless pursuit of excellence. The rally pushed her and other participants beyond their limits, uniting a community of women who are passionately claiming their space in motorsport. This triumphant moment not only celebrates individual accomplishments but also sets a powerful example for future generations.

The Road Ahead

Rally Jameel continues to redefine what's possible in motorsports and aims to inspire more women to engage in such challenging endeavors. Each edition of the rally has left an indelible mark, not just as a competition, but as a movement celebrating empowerment, ambition, and the spirit of adventure. As more participants join in the coming years, the rally promises to further enrich the motorsport landscape, championing diversity and inclusivity on every stage.

With plans for future editions, Rally Jameel is set to continue its legacy as a pioneering event that not only enhances the sporting sphere but also fosters a supportive community for aspiring female drivers worldwide.
