Haier Unveils Horizon Refrigerator in Vietnam, Redefining Freshness and Design in Home Appliances

Haier Launches Horizon Refrigerator in Vietnam

Haier has officially launched its premium Horizon Collection refrigerator series in Vietnam on May 29, 2026. This introduction is particularly significant as it marks the entry of the Horizon Collection into the Southeast Asian market, responding to the local consumers' desire for versatile and effective fresh-keeping solutions. Following successful launches in Europe, including an initial unveiling at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, UK, Haier is accelerating its global presence.

Innovations for Freshness

In a region where typically hot and humid weather prevails, maintaining the freshness of foods is essential. The Horizon series incorporates advanced technology specifically designed to cater to the tropical climate's demands. It boasts innovative features that include:

  • - HCS Humidity Control: This technology manages humidity levels to keep produce fresh for up to 7 days.
  • - Magnetic-Controlled Freshness Technology: This award-winning (Gold Medal at the Geneva International Invention Exhibition) feature preserves the original flavor of fresh meat for an extended period of 10 days, ensuring over 95% of protein integrity remains intact.
  • - Door-Mounted Ice Making System: For the first time in the industry, this system operates separately from food storage areas, preventing odor contamination and enabling quick, clean ice production.

With a substantial capacity of 716 liters, adjustable shelves, and ample door space, the refrigerator is designed to accommodate a full week’s groceries for large families, including upright 1.5-liter bottles. Selected models even feature AI Vision Technology that helps users manage their food inventory by automatically recognizing the types and quantities of items.

Moreover, at the launch event, Haier also showcased its Space Fit series, another innovation that emphasizes temperature stability, ensuring fluctuations remain below 1°C. This technology guarantees that even after a month in the freezer, steaks remain juicy and nutrient-rich when thawed, maintaining their original quality.

Strategic Growth in Vietnam

Vietnam stands as the largest high-end refrigerator market in Southeast Asia, accounting for over half of the region's sales. Haier's recent sales figures have shown promising growth, with refrigerator sales in Vietnam doubling month-over-month and experiencing over a 60% increase year-on-year in January 2026 alone. This bolsters Haier's standing as a market leader in the region.

Retail demonstrations have been vital in illustrating the benefits of Haier’s advanced preservation technologies to consumers, with the Space Fit series outpacing competitor display numbers rapidly, achieving five times the sales in just five weeks.

Through strategic partnerships, such as the collaboration with prominent appliance retailer DMX in Vietnam, and the launch of the Haier brand in 2025, Haier is solidifying its market share. Notably, its AQUA washers are already leading in the country, marking a comprehensive approach to gaining consumer trust and preference.

As of April 2026, Haier's brand share across Southeast Asia ranks it as the number one choice, achieving a growth rate exceeding 40% in Vietnam and other markets. Following this success in Vietnam, the plans to roll out the Horizon series in countries like Indonesia and Thailand indicate a commitment to increasing their high-end brand presence regionally.

The introduction of the Horizon series signifies a pivotal shift for Haier in Southeast Asia. Transitioning from being a market leader in scale, the brand aims to elevate its status as a premium name in home appliances. Looking towards the future, Haier is committed to enhancing consumer experience through ongoing innovations focused on freshness preservation, sustainable kitchen aesthetics, and a commitment to local needs and preferences.
