AHAM Appoints Matthew Hite as New VP, Elevates Jennifer Cleary

AHAM's Policy Leadership Team Shifts with New Appointments

The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) has made significant changes in its leadership team that are set to enhance its policy advocacy. On July 16, 2025, the association announced that Matthew Hite would join as the new Vice President of Government Affairs. Hite has a robust background in both advocacy and legislative counsel, with prior experiences at the U.S. Senate among others.

Matthew Hite brings over two decades of experience in his field, previously serving as the vice president of federal advocacy for the American Rental Association. His rich experience includes roles such as senior vice president of government affairs for the GPA Midstream Association and senior counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. This extensive background equips him to effectively represent and advocate for the interests of appliance manufacturers across the nation.

Kelly Mariotti, AHAM's President and CEO, expressed confidence in Hite's abilities, stating, “Matthew's strong blend of policy expertise, strategic insight, established relationships, and track record of engaging members will elevate our advocacy on behalf of appliance manufacturers in the U.S.” Hite's leadership is expected to be crucial as AHAM confronts ongoing and emerging issues affecting home appliances—aiming to further the association’s influence amid a complex regulatory framework.
