Mynavi DANCEALIVE 2026 KIDS TOHOKU Highlights Massive Solo Dance Event

Exciting Highlights from Mynavi DANCEALIVE 2026 KIDS TOHOKU

On January 12, 2026, the anticipated KIDS qualifying round of the massive solo dance battle series, Mynavi DANCEALIVE 2026, took place at ROCK FOOT Sendai. Organised by Anomaly Inc., which is headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, this competition is part of an extensive series that encourages young dancers to showcase their talent. The event promises to illuminate the incredible skills and creativity of kids from across Japan, setting the stage for participation in the finals scheduled for April 19, 2026, at Ryogoku Kokugikan.

The Path to the Finals

The KIDS category serves as both a challenge and an opportunity for young dancers to take their passion for dance to the next level. Participants are set to earn points throughout various qualifying rounds across regions, including Hokkaido, Tohoku, Hokuriku, Kanto, Chubu, Chugoku, Kansai, and Kyushu. The top two dancers from each region will advance to the finals, along with two additional dancers selected through a wildcard competition held the day before the finals.

About Mynavi DANCEALIVE

This dance competition, originally launched in Japan in 2005 under the name DANCE@LIVE, has grown to become one of the world's most significant street dance battles. The unique format features one-on-one competition, where dancers improvise in a duel according to a mix of music curated by a DJ. The dancers aim to impress a panel of judges to secure votes in a bid to win.

DANCEALIVE features six categories including HOUSE, BREAKING, HIP HOP, ALL STYLES, and POPPING in the general division, commonly referred to as GENERAL. Additionally, there's a KIDS division focused on all styles for participants in middle school and below. The competition runs across eight districts, culminating in a grand finale in April where skilled dancers vie for the coveted title.

Upcoming Tournaments

Mark your calendars for the exciting upcoming qualifying rounds for KIDS in 2026:
  • - January 17: KIDS CHUGOKU CLIMAX
  • - January 18: KIDS HOKURIKU CLIMAX
  • - January 31: KIDS KANTO CLIMAX
  • - February 14: KIDS HOKKAIDO CLIMAX
  • - April 19: KIDS FINAL at Ryogoku Kokugikan.

The KIDS Category Explained

Dancers in the KIDS category must be middle school age or younger at the time of participation. Those who graduate from middle school by the finals can still compete. The format consists of one-on-one battles across all styles, with the goal of amassing points throughout the regional competitions. Only the best performers will earn a chance to advance to the finals.

Engaging with regional competitions offers budding dancers not just a chance to improve their skills but also a platform to be recognized. With three qualifying events in each area (vol.1, vol.2, and CLIMAX), aspiring dancers from areas such as Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Hokuriku, Chubu, Kansai, Chugoku, and Kyushu can take part with no entry restrictions based on residence.

Among these advancements, special attention is given to the WILDCARD round, which features the top contenders from each district who also have the chance to move forward towards the finals.

As we look forward to the April finals, the excitement surrounding the Mynavi DANCEALIVE 2026 KIDS underscores the importance of supporting the dance community and celebrating the talents of young performers.
