Yayoi Ken's New High-Quality Concept Store Opens in Koga City

Yayoi Ken's New Store Launch in Koga City

On March 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM, the renowned Japanese set meal restaurant, Yayoi Ken, will proudly unveil its latest location in Koga City, Ibaraki Prefecture, bringing the total number of domestic outlets to 374. The Koga store is designed to embody the upscale aesthetic of the Yayoi Ken brand, which was revitalized with the new logo and symbol introduced in December 2023.

Store Design

The Koga store’s architecture is a refined representation of Yayoi Ken's brand identity. Key design elements include:
  • - A modern, minimalistic approach that resonates with traditional Japanese motifs, exemplified by warm noren (fabric dividers) and historic references to the roots of the Yayoi name, “Yayoi-ken.”
  • - Wall decorations crafted from historical materials serving as a tribute to the brand’s legacy and cultural depth.

To enhance customer convenience, the restaurant offers tablet-based ordering directly from the tables, allowing guests to leisurely browse through the menu. Additionally, a unique dessert menu exclusive to the Koga location introduces delightful options for a sweet finish to any meal, with a drinks bar available for guests to relax and enjoy their time.

Special Features

Yayoi Ken continues to stand out by offering unlimited refills on staple items like rice, dashi (soup stock), and pickles. A dedicated 'refill station' ensures that diners can enjoy these servings without hesitation.

Logo and Symbolism

Yayoi Ken's logo employs a modern, bold typeface that harmonizes Japanese and Latin scripts, ensuring immediate recognition in both domestic and international markets. The symbol is designed as a noren reflecting the letters 'Y', 'Y', and 'I' of “YAYOI,” complemented by a stylistic signature of “やよい” in Hiragana, signifying warmth and tradition. The color palette, including 'Yayoi Red' which symbolizes ambition and warmth, is carefully chosen to represent the modern yet traditional essence of the brand.
