The Light Park Expands Holiday Entertainment Through Strategic Acquisition

The Light Park Expands Its Reach in Holiday Entertainment

In a significant strategic move, The Light Park, renowned for its large-scale drive-thru holiday light installations, has officially acquired the Holiday Supply Shop. This acquisition, backed by the investment firm Guideboat Capital, is set to bolster The Light Park’s operational capabilities while allowing it to reach broader audiences and provide enhanced pedestrian-driven holiday experiences.

The Holiday Supply Shop, famous for its immersive walk-thru holiday light parks, was founded by industry veteran Matt Thompson. With over 20 years of experience in live event management, Thompson’s expertise stems from his extensive work in minor league baseball and various venue-based entertainment frameworks. This experience has positioned him to effectively cater to the operational demands of producing engaging festive experiences in stadiums and other large venues across the United States.

In 2025, under Thompson’s leadership, Holiday Supply Shop successfully operated six walk-thru holiday light parks, engaging hundreds of thousands of guests. His proficiency in coordinating events within active stadiums ensures that each venture meets the highest standards of safety and guest experience. His well-established operational model is anticipated to blend seamlessly with The Light Park's existing drive-thru holiday attractions.

Co-Founder of The Light Park, Jasen Coots, emphasized the significance of this acquisition, stating, "This partnership introduces a proven walk-thru operational framework and substantial stadium knowledge into The Light Park group. Matt has devised a robust, scalable model for these festive experiences, which enhances our drive-thru operations while expanding the variety of venues we can manage in the future."

The Light Park currently oversees nine drive-thru holiday light parks in Texas, and collaborates with municipalities and venue owners to conduct well-managed, high-capacity seasonal events. The acquisition of Holiday Supply Shop is anticipated to amplify The Light Park's operational prowess, facilitating planned growth into pedestrian-oriented and stadium-based holiday attractions.

Thompson remarked on the merger, noting, "Holiday Supply Shop was built with a focus on execution and ensuring excellence within complex event environments. By becoming part of The Light Park, we're positioned to leverage our expertise on a larger scale, supported by the infrastructure necessary for thoughtful growth."

Moving forward, Thompson will maintain his leadership role in managing walk-thru holiday park operations while significantly contributing to the enhancement of The Light Park's offerings in stadiums and other venues. This growth trajectory demonstrates The Light Park’s commitment to evolving its service scope within the holiday entertainment sector.
