Tata AutoComp and Katcon Global Team Up for Composite Manufacturing in Mexico

Tata AutoComp and Katcon Global Join Forces in Mexico

In a significant move within the automotive sector, Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd., a prominent Indian manufacturer of automotive components, has officially joined hands with Katcon Global, a key player in exhaust systems and thermal insulation, to establish a strategic joint venture in Mexico. This partnership is specifically aimed at producing advanced composite materials targeted primarily at the North American market. The new venture will specialize in lightweight composite applications that will be employed in various sectors, including passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, agricultural tractors, off-road machinery, and even specialized non-automotive uses.

Both firms are looking to leverage their existing strengths and years of collaboration; they have enjoyed a successful partnership spanning 13 years, particularly in the field of exhaust systems and emission control solutions. With Tata AutoComp's advanced technology and established customer relationships combined with Katcon's operational excellence and deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, this new venture is poised for success.

Mr. Arvind Goel, Vice Chairman of Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd., remarked on the importance of this joint undertaking, noting that it marks a pivotal moment as it represents a shift where Tata AutoComp contributes core technology to the partnership—a deviation from their previous collaborations. He emphasized the innovation brought forth by their Composite Division, which has been recently acknowledged by the prestigious Deming Award, showcasing their proprietary technology and capability in manufacturing composite materials and sheets.

Similarly, Mr. Carlos Turner, CEO of Katcon Global, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting how the fusion of Katcon's composite technologies and Tata AutoComp's industry expertise will enable the development of innovative lightweight solutions that cater to the rapidly evolving demands of the North American automotive sector.
