GAC Accelerates Overseas Growth with Record Exports in August 2026

GAC's International Growth Journey



In the month of August 2026, GAC has reported outstanding growth in its international markets, with exports reaching an impressive total of 26,978 units. This marks an astonishing 177% increase compared to the same month in the previous year. Cumulatively, from January to August, GAC's exports soared to 172,008 units, reflecting a 136% increase year-over-year. To date, GAC has exported nearly 600,000 vehicles globally.

Expanding Presence in Americas



In North and South America, GAC achieved a 93% year-on-year sales increase in August. The company made significant inroads in Uruguay, where it captured a historic milestone by ranking fifth among all passenger car brands and third among pure electric vehicle manufacturers, securing a market share of 6.0%. Notably, the AION V was the second best-selling SUV in Uruguay during July and topped the compact SUV segment.

Surge in Southeast Asia



Sales in Southeast Asia also demonstrated impressive growth, with a 24% year-on-year increase in August. The Philippines saw an exceptional rise of 283%, while Singapore reported an 89% increase. Other markets like Thailand and Indonesia experienced growth rates of 27% and 24%, respectively. In Hong Kong, the GAC E9 was the top luxury MPV in July, underlining the brand's rising popularity.

Record Growth in Africa



Africa emerged as GAC's fastest-growing overseas market in August, with retail sales skyrocketing by 881% compared to the previous year. GAC International further enhanced its presence by signing a pivotal agreement with Jameel Motors for local vehicle production in Egypt. Additionally, GAC officially entered the Ghanaian market, showcasing flagship models including the S7, GS8, and AION V to local consumers.

Strength in the Middle East



The Middle East continues to be a cornerstone for GAC's growth strategy, gaining the trust of over 100,000 users in the region. On August 28, GAC unveiled both the GS7 PHEV and the XT80, its first SUV model, marking a significant expansion. The GS7 PHEV is set for a September launch, indicating GAC's commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Growth in Europe



August also brought significant increases in Europe, with retail sales jumping 93% from the previous month. The UK saw an 89% growth, followed by 167% in Portugal and 33% in Poland. Greece stood out by achieving the second position in pure electric vehicle sales, consistently increasing its market share.

The impressive growth figures serve as a testament to GAC's progressive strategies in expanding its international footprint, demonstrating how Chinese automotive brands are gaining recognition and acceptance worldwide.
