Empowering Future Women Leaders in STEM: Allergan Aesthetics and Girls Inc. Collaborate

Allergan Aesthetics and Girls Inc.: A Commitment to Women in STEM

Allergan Aesthetics, a subsidiary of AbbVie, has reaffirmed its dedication to fostering future female leaders in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). In partnership with Girls Inc., this initiative marks the seventh consecutive year the two organizations have collaborated to create opportunities for girls in STEM disciplines. With an alarming statistic indicating that women hold only 18% of STEM jobs in the United States, Allergan Aesthetics aims to inspire and support young women to pursue careers in these fields.

The Vision: Inspiring Change

Nicole Mowad-Nassar, President of Global Allergan Aesthetics, highlighted the importance of mentorship and community support to empower the next generation of female leaders. Despite 55% of girls expressing interest in STEM careers, numerous barriers hinder their active participation. To address these issues, two major initiatives have been introduced: the Allergan Medical Institute (AMI) Atlanta Training Center Experience and the SkinSpirit Gives Campaign.

Behind the Scenes at the AMI Training Center

This year, the AMI Atlanta Training Center will host participants from Girls Inc. for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour. The event will culminate in a panel discussion featuring successful women healthcare providers. These professionals will share their personal career journeys, outlining the challenges they've faced and offering invaluable advice to the next generation of women in STEM. The AMI seeks to enhance the aesthetics field through high-impact educational programs for aesthetic providers, driving advancement and innovation within the industry.

SkinSpirit’s Role: Philanthropy Meets Education

SkinSpirit, recognized for its excellence in medical aesthetics, is joining forces with Allergan Aesthetics and Girls Inc. to inspire clients to contribute to this vital cause. From November 1 to November 15, SkinSpirit’s philanthropic arm, SkinSpirit Gives, will invite clients to donate directly to Girls Inc. The funds raised will support STEM programming, mentorship, and career development opportunities for over 120,000 girls across 75 affiliates in the U.S. and Canada.

Lynn Heublein, CEO and Co-founder of SkinSpirit, expressed her belief in the transformative power of STEM opportunities for women. By partnering with Girls Inc., she aims to champion education, mentorship, and career exploration in the STEM fields, helping to unlock key opportunities for young women who may feel limited in their aspirations.
