This coming weekend, the vibrant city of Mito in Ibaraki will host the first-ever "Bird Fest Mito 2025" from October 18th to 19th. Organized by Kotoricafe, the event promises a delightful experience for all bird enthusiasts.

At Mito Civic Hall, visitors will be welcomed into a charming setting that embodies art, culture, and history. The event aims to create a cozy and engaging atmosphere for bird lovers of all ages, allowing them to immerse themselves in a variety of stunning bird-themed creations.

The festival opens its doors on Saturday, October 18th, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and continues on Sunday, October 19th, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Located on the second floor of Mito Civic Hall, participants can expect a festival atmosphere filled with vibrant displays from renowned artists and creators from across the country.

Attendees will have the chance to explore a wealth of unique products showcasing colorful motifs of small birds. Among the highlights, CAP! (Dream Bird) will showcase a range of bird food and care products, catering to both avid bird lovers and casual visitors alike. If you're looking for a special souvenir for your feathered friend, you'll find plenty of toys and memorabilia crafted by talented artisans.

The allure of Mito Civic Hall adds to the event's charm, with its contemporary architecture standing as a landmark for arts and culture in the city. In addition to the festival, the adjacent Keisei Department Store offers a plethora of shopping and dining options, making it an ideal outing for families or groups.

Entrance to the festival is affordable, with a ticket price of just 500 yen, which can be purchased on-site (cash only). As a special bonus, attendees will receive an exclusive clear file featuring artwork by the talented illustrator, osekihan, while supplies last. Children under elementary school age can enter free of charge. However, please note that live animal displays or sales will not be part of this event, and bringing pets is not allowed.

In collaboration with the Konowa and Nozawa families, the Bird Fest aims to foster a community environment that celebrates the joy of bird watching and pet care. Illustrative works from BIRDSTORY will also be available, adding to the diverse art showcased throughout the event.
