First Edition of Riyadh Active Industry Sets New Standards in Fitness Events

In February 2025, the Riyadh Active Industry made its debut in Saudi Arabia, marking a noteworthy milestone for fitness events in the region. Organized by IEG Arabia, a segment of the Italian Exhibition Group, this event encompassed the Riyadh Muscle Show and the Riyadh Active Exhibition. Spanning two days on the 8th and 9th of February, the event saw participation from over 10,000 professionals, buyers, enthusiasts, and competitors, all gathered to celebrate wellness and fitness.

The event's grand opening welcomed around 120 industry leaders and distinguished guests, including Naif Aldossary from the Saudi Sports Ministry and Basim K. Ibrahim, the Director of Sports at the Ministry of Investment. The presence of Maurizio Ermeti, President of IEG, added to the significance of this inaugural event.

"We are already working on preparations for the 2026 edition," stated Francesco Santa, International Business Development Director at IEG. Plans for the next event involve extending the duration from two to three days as the organizers aim to double the attendance and triple the exhibition space to 20,000 square meters. Scheduled to occur between February 5-7, 2026, this upcoming gathering will take place at the ROSHN Front under the supervision of the Saudi Sports Ministry and in collaboration with supportive partners and the Ministry of Investment.

The Riyadh Active Industry showcased prominent names and vendors from the wellness and fitness sector, including Panatta, Wellness First, Delta Fitness, Al Hayat Investments, and Matrix. The format included discussions such as the Industry Talks and Women in Fitness Forum, which attracted hundreds of industry operators.

The Riyadh Muscle Show featured approximately 300 competitors in the Kingdom Championships, the premier national bodybuilding finals, organized in association with the Saudi Bodybuilding Federation, the Sports Ministry, and the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee. The electrifying atmosphere was further amplified by notable exhibitors such as Applied Nutrition, Dr. Nutrition, and C4, which contributed to a unique muscle show experience.

Celebrated fitness personalities such as Heba Ali and Hana Basrawi graced the Riyadh Active event, which was presented by Subway. Numerous renowned brands like Grenade, Lululemon, Gymnation, and Les Mills played essential roles in fostering community connections within the fitness domain.

This landmark event was not only a celebration of fitness and wellness but also a testament to the growing interest and investment in the health and fitness sectors in Saudi Arabia. The success of the Riyadh Active Industry and its associated events sets a promising precedent for future gatherings, paving the way for a vibrant and engaged fitness community in the region.

The anticipation builds for the next edition, with expectations to see even greater participation, innovations, and discussions shaping the future of fitness in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
