Background of Clutch Shot
Molten has been dedicated to enhancing Japan's basketball environment through various initiatives since the launch of the B+ Shooting Machine in 2020. To date, over 300 machines have been installed nationwide, improving training quality across the board. However, there’s still a lack of accessible spaces for everyone to enjoy shooting casually.
The moment a shot goes in can spark joy and encourage people to want to shoot again. This is a sensation that Molten wants to share with a wider audience.
Thus, they developed the
Clutch Shot, a user-friendly shooting game incorporating sensing technology and gamification principles. This event will not only highlight the game’s appeal but also allow the Molten team to gather crucial feedback and community responses, which will drive future developments and enhancements.
The Voices Behind Clutch Shot
Shunpei Katsuta from Molten’s Sports Equipment Division expresses his deep passion for the enjoyment of shooting practice, hoping to share this experience with as many people as possible. At the Toyosu event, the feedback collected will guide refining the game's features further.
Kawada Tomo from AR San Kyodai, who specializes in augmented reality, is eager for attendees to easily engage with the machine. “I’m thrilled that
Clutch Shot has reached this experiential stage,” he shares.
Mr. Ken Endo from Xiborg, focusing on body extension technology, expresses a personal connection to basketball, stressing the importance of joy that comes with shooting.
Lastly, Kazuhiko Kobayashi from Kids Project emphasizes the value of trying, challenging attendees to join in the fun.
Looking Ahead with Molten B+
Molten B+ aims to enhance Japan's basketball scene and create a vibrant environment filled with basketball. This event represents just one step in a broader mission to support basketball promotion, helping to cultivate a culture where enjoyment and community thrive through sports.
