Experience Traditional Japanese Arts: Enrollment Open for Kids Program

Discover the Joy of Traditional Arts in Japan!

The 'Kids Traditional Performing Arts Experience,' organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture and the Japan Performing Arts Association, invites young participants to immerse themselves in the world of traditional Japanese arts. This year marks the 18th edition of this acclaimed program, which has introduced approximately 5,000 children to the beauty and depth of Japan's cultural heritage.

The program offers a unique opportunity for children, ranging from elementary to high school age, to learn directly from master performers in disciplines such as Noh, Kyogen, Nagauta, and Nihon Buyo (Japanese classical dance). Participants engage in months of dedicated practice, culminating in performances at prestigious venues like the National Noh Theatre and Asakusa Public Hall. The aim is not merely to teach the arts but to instill a deep appreciation for the traditions that have shaped Japanese identity for centuries.
