Introducing Korean Cuisine: bibigo Showcases K-Food at the Milan Winter Olympics 2026

As part of the upcoming Olympics, CJ Foods is set to promote its global Korean food brand bibigo through an engaging exhibition at the Korea House in Milan. This initiative aims to bring Korean cuisine to a wider international audience while also exploring new retail opportunities in the European market.

The Korea House, managed by the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC) and sponsored by the CJ Group, has been set up in the enchanting Villa Necchi Campiglio in central Milan. The pop-up bibigo Zone will be open from February 5 to 22, 2026, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in K-Culture alongside delicious K-Food.

Inspired by the vibrant convenience stores found in Seoul, the bibigo stand is located in the K-Culture Zone, an outdoor area on the tennis court of the villa. Guests who follow bibigo’s official Instagram account on-site will enjoy a special offer of bibigo Ramyun, available in two newly introduced flavors: K-BBQ and Kimchi, along with Spicy Kimchi and K-Chicken options. The bibigo stand will showcase a range of other products, including Mandu (Korean dumplings), chicken dishes, seaweed, Tteokbokki, and kimchi. These offerings aim to boost brand recognition among consumers and retail buyers alike.

Stephan Czypionka, Head of Global Marketing at CJ Foods, stated, "We believe this event presents an exceptional opportunity to introduce bibigo and K-Food to a wider international audience. As a leading K-Food brand, we will continue to promote the flavors of Korean cuisine worldwide through fun and engaging marketing activities."

CJ Foods and bibigo have been part of the Korea House initiative since the Summer Olympics in Paris 2024 to advocate for K-Food. At the Korea House in Paris, bibigo operated a successful pop-up that offered combo meals featuring Tteokbokki, Mandu dumplings, rice balls, and kimchi, garnering significant popularity by selling 500 prepared meals daily in just four hours on average.

Europe is considered a strategic region for CJ's global K-Food expansion, with the company officially entering the market in 2018 through its acquisition of German frozen food manufacturer Mainfrost. Since then, CJ Foods has steadily increased its presence in Europe by establishing subsidiaries in the UK (2022), France, and Hungary (2024). Currently, bibigo products are available in 27 European countries, with CJ's European food division achieving its first annual sales exceeding 100 billion KRW in 2024. Moreover, revenue in the first three quarters of 2025 climbed by 25% compared to the previous year.

In response to the growing local demand for K-Food, CJ Foods is in the process of constructing a new factory near Budapest, Hungary, which is expected to be completed by the end of this year. This facility will specialize in producing bibigo dumplings and chicken for the European market.
