LEPAS Introduces First Public Safety Test Defining Stylish Driving through Safety Innovations

LEPAS Launches First Public Safety Test for Elegant Driving

On October 20, 2025, during the International User Summit of Chery 2025, LEPAS, a brand focused on smart electrification under the Chery Group umbrella, hosted its inaugural public safety test in Wuhu, China. This event was open to global media and dealers, emphasizing the brand's philosophy of defining elegance through uncompromised safety.

LEPAS aims to establish itself as the “preferred brand for an elegant mobile lifestyle,” pioneering a new category of “elegant driving.” The cornerstone of this concept is built on the foundation of safety, which is integral to the user experience.

Robust Safety Standards

The safety measures implemented by the Chery Group adhere to principles that encompass “all people, all processes, all scenarios, all directions, and all markets.” This comprehensive approach includes 127 safety development standards, achieving a simulation accuracy rate of over 95%. LEPAS is designed to meet the five-star Euro NCAP standards anticipated for the year 2026, featuring an innovative three-way front crash design and a robust floor structure consisting of “8 longitudinal and 5 transverse” elements.

Made with 75% high-strength steel and aluminum, the LEPAS vehicles, equipped with ten airbags, provide a high level of passenger protection while optimizing performance during extreme conditions such as wading and rollover incidents.

LEPAS L8: A Testament to Safety

The flagship LEPAS L8 exemplifies the brand's safety philosophy. During the safety test, the vehicle successfully underwent three rigorous assessments: chassis abrasion, wading through obstacles, and a rollover test. The results demonstrated the car's exceptional technical resilience.

In the chassis abrasion test, the underbody remained intact with no battery leakage, fire, or short circuit detected, confirming its protective design effectiveness. Notably, during the wading test, the vehicle traversed 600 mm deep water without any signs of seepage or malfunction, showcasing its impressive waterproof capabilities.

Perhaps the most striking outcome was observed during the rollover test conducted at a speed of 60 km/h, which exceeds standard testing criteria. The LEPAS L8 maintained its structural integrity, attributed to 28 parts made of 1500 MPa pressed steel and a comprehensive restraint system featuring ten airbags that ensure comprehensive protection of passengers.

Advanced Technology Integration

The LEPAS L8, based on the new Intelligent Technology platform, integrates advanced tri-electric systems and a human-centric intelligent cockpit that guarantees stability, efficiency, and comfort. This recent safety test not only validated the technological prowess of the LEPAS brand but also solidified its positioning as the “preferred brand for an elegant mobile lifestyle,” where safety and elegance harmonize perfectly.

In conclusion, LEPAS's commitment to safety through innovative testing sets a new benchmark in the automotive industry. As the brand continues to pioneer in the realm of smart electrification, it establishes a new standard for what “elegant driving” truly means, ultimately redefining the expectations of the modern automotive consumer.
