Mazda Achieves Historic Sales Record in September 2026

Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) has proudly announced its impressive sales results for September 2026, totaling 34,519 vehicles sold. This represents a remarkable 31.9% increase when compared to the same month last year. Analyzing the year-to-date figures reveals 310,268 vehicles sold, which indicates a slight decrease of 2.9% from the previous year during the same period.

This month was particularly significant, as it had 25 sales days compared to 24 days in September 2025. Reflecting this extra selling day, the Daily Sales Rate (DSR) saw a boost of 26.6%, showcasing the steady demand for Mazda vehicles across various markets.

Key Highlights of September Sales

1. CX-50 Performance: September marked a milestone for the CX-50 as it recorded the best sales ever for this model, encompassing both traditional internal combustion and hybrid variants. The demand for this vehicle underscores the growing consumer interest in thoughtful engineering and environmental considerations.

2. Hybrid Trends: The CX-50 Hybrid also achieved its best performance ever in September, further validating Mazda's strategy to innovate and provide eco-friendly options without sacrificing quality and performance.

3. CX-90 MHEV Success: Joining the ranks of award-winning sales for the month is the CX-90 MHEV, which also celebrated its highest sales numbers in September. This reflects Mazda's dedication to hybrid technology and meeting evolving consumer expectations.

In Canada, Mazda Canada Inc. (MCI) reported total sales of 6,454 vehicles, noting a 19.3% decline compared to September of the previous year. Year-to-date totals show 56,148 vehicles sold, which is a 12.3% drop from the same period last year. This suggests that while MNAO is thriving, MCI faces some challenges in its sales trajectory.

Conversely, in Mexico, Mazda Motor de México (MMdM) recorded 8,539 vehicles sold, marking a 15% increase from September 2025. Year-to-date figures reflect this trend with 78,654 vehicles sold, a growth of 5% from last year.
