The highly anticipated fourth edition of the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) commenced on June 22 in Beijing, marking a significant event in the global supply chain landscape. This year's expo, attended by approximately 1,300 representatives from public administration, business, academia, and international organizations from over 100 regions, showcased the united efforts toward advancing supply chain efficiency and sustainability.
Among the dignitaries present were Paul Mashatile, the Deputy President of South Africa; John W.H. Denton AO, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce; and Xi Guohua, Chairman of CITIC Group. Notably, a congratulatory letter from His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom was presented, highlighting the international recognition and collaboration that this event fosters.
The chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Ren Hongbin, emphasized that this year's expo centers on sustainable economic growth, enhancing trade ties, and international cooperation. The primary aim is to unveil new opportunities for both Chinese and global enterprises. He reiterated CCPIT's commitment to providing robust promotional platforms and comprehensive support services for international businesses, thereby facilitating stronger partnerships in industrial and supply chain domains.
The theme 'Connecting the World for a Shared Future' underpins the mission of the CISCE, aiming to bridge gaps between nations and industries. This initiative received support from five international organizations, including the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the World Intellectual Property Organization. Australia was designated as the honored guest, while the Rhône-Alpes region of France and Liguria in Italy were acknowledged as the first international honored regions, showcasing a diverse cultural and economic representation.
The expo features six key supply chain domains: digital technologies, advanced manufacturing, sustainable agriculture, healthy living, smart vehicles, and clean energy. Additionally, a special exhibition zone is dedicated to supply chain services, reflecting the comprehensive nature of this event that draws participation from 676 leading firms and numerous innovative small and medium-sized enterprises from 85 various nations.
