6K Energy Secures $1.9M Grant for Innovative Battery Development

The focus of this development revolves around the advanced single-crystal NMC721 material, which will be produced using 6K's innovative UniMelt® microwave plasma technology. The BATTNET program is a crucial element of the Defense Operational Energy Program under the Defense Manufacturing Technology (ManTech) initiative. With its primary goal to enhance both the logistics and performance of battery technology, the initiative seeks to strengthen the domestic supply chain, improve safety protocols, and extend the shelf life of materials, ultimately increasing the availability of batteries for defense applications.
