BAIC FOTON Launches Regional Training Center in South Africa for Local Adaptation

BAIC FOTON's New Regional Training Center in Africa

On October 27th, just ahead of the BAIC FOTON Africa Partners Conference, a new regional training center was officially inaugurated in South Africa. This initiative aims to respond effectively to the evolving demands of the African market, where BAIC FOTON's growing range of vehicles has sparked increased needs in sales, maintenance, and technical assistance. Recognizing the necessity for skilled local professionals to enhance customer service, the establishment of this training facility represents a significant step forward.

Lu Zhenghua, the General Manager of BAIC FOTON, emphasized the critical role this training center will play in supporting operations across the entire value chain. He articulated that training local service technicians is essential for bolstering BAIC FOTON's regional operations and deepening its local engagement. This center is designed not only to fortify technical standards and service experience but also to enhance coordination and collaboration between product supply, after-sales support, and skill development.

Wang Zhuozhong, Vice President of BAIC FOTON International, outlined the vision and development plans for the center, highlighting its importance in cultivating professional competencies needed for regional service enhancement. During the opening ceremony, discussions were held with local partners regarding cooperation in service provision and future collaborative opportunities. With its official launch, the training center is set to commence operations immediately, targeting South Africa while also serving the broader African market.

The center will utilize a multi-tiered training system designed to transmit technical standards and service experiences to local teams. Additionally, BAIC FOTON aims to strengthen the service management capabilities of its dealerships, focusing on spare parts inventory, maintenance processes, and intervention efficiency, thus driving the regional service system towards higher standardization and professionalism.

Spanning an area of 900 square meters, the facility boasts 450 square meters designated for theoretical instruction and another 450 square meters dedicated to practical training. A large 140-square-meter classroom can accommodate up to 80 participants for group lessons, while a smaller 35-square-meter room can house 24 apprentices. The practical training area has been meticulously crafted to meet the training needs of BAIC FOTON's entire product lineup and is divided into five sections: complete vehicles, engines, transmissions, electrical and electronic systems, and new energy vehicles.

Moving forward, BAIC FOTON plans to continue its strategy of global internationalization, collaborating with African partners to enhance its operational systems along the entire value chain. This approach is geared towards promoting sustainable development tailored to local market demands, ensuring the company can provide quality service as its presence in Africa expands. With this center, BAIC FOTON is not just investing in infrastructure but is also investing in the local workforce, shaping the future of automotive support in the region.
