Mazda Achieves Record Sales in December and 2024, Setting New Milestones in the U.S. Market

Mazda Breaks Sales Records for December and Full Year 2024

Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) recently announced impressive sales figures for December 2024, reporting a total of 40,201 vehicles sold. This marks a 1.7% increase compared to December 2023. For the entire year, Mazda recorded a significant 16.8% growth, with sales reaching 424,382 vehicles.

One of the highlights from the December sales included the CX-30 reaching its best monthly sales ever, with 8,875 vehicles sold. Moreover, the newly launched CX-50 also saw outstanding performance, achieving a record of 8,083 units sold during that month. The CX-90, another model, had its best December sales too, with 5,995 vehicles sold.

In total, the certified pre-owned vehicles saw sales of 5,931, reflecting a 17% increase year-over-year. Encouragingly, this performance occurred despite having 25 selling days in December, one day less than the previous year, which translates to a 5.8% increase in daily sales rate.

Major Accomplishments in 2024

Mazda's achievements in 2024 extended beyond just sales figures, including several key milestones:

1. Sales Records: Setting a new high with 424,382 vehicles sold.
2. Safety Awards: Mazda's vehicles earned a total of eight IIHS Top Safety Pick+ awards, more than any other brand in 2024. The award-winning models include the Mazda3, CX-30, and others.
3. Brand Launch: The successful introduction of their new branding platform, “Move and Be Moved,” which emphasizes human connection.
4. Manufacturing Expansion: Commencement of assembly for the CX-50 Hybrid at Mazda Toyota Manufacturing in Huntsville, Alabama.
5. Retail Evolution: Opening its 329th Retail Evolution dealership, part of a program that now represents nearly 90% of MNAO's retail sales.
6. Community Commitment: The Mazda Foundation contributed over $500,000 to various organizations across the U.S., focusing on food insecurity and educational access.
7. Diversity Initiatives: Supporting DEI efforts with a $320,000 donation in collaboration with Employee Resource Groups.

Tom Donnelly, President and CEO of Mazda North American Operations, emphasized that these record results derive from the relentless dedication of MNAO staff and their dealership partners. He stated, “In 2024, we expanded our product offerings with the launch of the CX-70 and the CX-50 Hybrid, initiated a new brand platform, and enhanced our dealership evolution programs. These initiatives are fundamental to our record achievements at MNAO, and I am confident we will continue this growth into the new year and beyond.”
