Pal System Contest: A Celebration of Delivery Skills
On January 31st from 10 AM to 1:45 PM, Pal System Tokyo will host the highly anticipated "Pal System Contest" at its headquarters in Shinjuku, Tokyo. This event aims to assess the service skills of delivery personnel who cater to home delivery service users. Representatives from all 18 delivery centers will compete in showcasing their delivery etiquette, including their ability to adapt to different situations during customer interactions, handle product exchanges with care, and address customer inquiries and requests.
Building Trust Through a Friendly Face
Initiated in the fiscal year 2022, this will be the fourth edition of the Pal System Contest. The selected participants are 18 of the best delivery staff from the various delivery centers in Tokyo. These dedicated individuals are affiliated with Pal System Tokyo, its logistics subsidiary Pal Line, and partner companies including Logical and SBS Zentsu, all committed to exemplary delivery service.
In the cooperative's delivery model, items are typically handed to customers directly at their door. While there is an option for delivery to a designated drop-off point, many customers prefer direct handover to avoid storage issues until the next delivery. This weekly face-to-face interaction makes delivery personnel the public face of Pal System, necessitating prompt and effective communication, including greetings, product exchanges, and handling of recycled materials and order slips.
A Supportive Community
To support the competing delivery representatives, colleagues from each of the 18 centers will record encouraging messages, which will be streamed for participants on contest day to enhance the sense of community. Furthermore, to ensure that all staff feel included, the contest will be live-streamed on YouTube, allowing everyone to support the participants in real-time, regardless of their location.
The outstanding delivery skills demonstrated by the elite 18 in the contest will later be shared through video distribution, enabling all staff to learn from the unique communication styles and attentiveness displayed by their representatives. This initiative aims to elevate the overall service capability of the organization.
With about 790 employees covering delivery across the Tokyo area through its 18 centers, Pal System strives to foster trust within the community, showcasing their service excellence and the power of collaboration.
