White Castle Honors 14 Dedicated Fans in Annual Cravers Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
White Castle Honors Passionate Fans in Annual Ceremony
On May 15, 2025, White Castle celebrated its long-standing tradition of honoring dedicated fans by inducting 14 new members into its esteemed Cravers Hall of Fame at a ceremony held in Columbus, Ohio. This event marked the continuation of a beloved ritual that began in 2001, recognizing the zealous love of White Castle’s Sliders, which originated in 1921 when the first castle opened its doors.
This year's inductees each shared unique stories that exemplify their deep connections to the brand. From an annual Slider-eating contest that has been held since 1967 to a remarkable journey of 36 miles by bicycle just to order a Slider, the inductees showcased their devotion to the fast-food chain. Jamie Richardson, Vice President at White Castle, expressed gratitude for the lengths these fans go to enjoy their favorite food: "We are humbled by the extreme lengths our most dedicated Cravers will go to satisfy their love for our hot and tasty food."
With the admittance of this year’s class, the Cravers Hall of Fame now boasts a total of 284 members committed to the Slider lifestyle. Each honoree not only received a commemorative plaque but also had their personal stories featured on packaging for White Castle’s iconic Sliders, further preserving their legacy within the brand.
The Cravers Hall of Fame induction process receives hundreds of submissions each year from passionate fans. The competitive judging process emphasizes the creativity, originality, and loyalty expressed in these narratives, making the honor even more prestigious - akin to entering a university renowned for its challenging admissions process.
Among the 2024 class of inductees is Andrew Abate from Chicago, whose love for White Castle began at an early age. On his wedding night, he delighted his 200 guests by ordering an astounding 420 Sliders. Another notable inductee, Beau Brent from Astoria, New York, is the lead singer of a glam rock band whose love for Sliders inspired an entire song dedicated to the fast-food chain.
Fredric Calev from Honeoye, New York, shared that his passion for Sliders began in childhood; he often passes down the tradition of enjoying White Castle to his descendants, further embedding the brand in his family’s history. Kyle and Kelsey Cavanaugh, a couple who found love in a Chicago White Castle, still celebrate their Valentine’s Day traditions at the beloved restaurant. Other inductees include Robert Donati from Muncie, Indiana, who has formed a Craver society, and Julie Sherman from Chicago, who embarked on a 36-mile bike ride to satisfy her craving for Sliders on a hot summer day.
The ceremony included complimentary travel, dining, hotel accommodations, and a grand reception. Following the event, many of the inductees expressed their pride in being inducted, showcasing the emotional resonance White Castle holds in the lives of its most loyal fans.
The Hall of Fame has had many illustrious members over the years, including celebrities like rocker Alice Cooper and designer Telfar Clemens. Nominations for the 2025 inductees are already open on the White Castle website, encouraging all Cravers to share their own extraordinary experiences with the brand.
