Tokyo Residents Show Interest in New App Support Program Ahead of Launch

MMD Labo, based in Chuo City, Tokyo, conducted a survey concerning the 'Tokyo App Lifestyle Support Project' from January 23 to January 26, 2026. This study involved 500 residents of Tokyo, focusing on their awareness and intentions related to the new app initiative. Interest in the Support Project


  • - Awareness of the Support Project: Among those who know about the app, 68.9% are aware of the 'Tokyo App Lifestyle Support Project'. When informed about what the project entails, 64.8% expressed a desire to participate. This indicates strong enthusiasm and potential future engagement once the project officially launches.
  • - Willingness to Participate: When asked about their interest in the project after learning its details, 43.8% indicated they would like to use it, and another 21.0% expressed they would consider it.

Preferred Reward Options


  • - Exchange Preferences: Among 324 respondents open to participation, a clear preference emerged for rewards, with 46.0% wanting to receive Rakuten Pay credits. This was followed closely by those who preferred d points (43.5%) and V points (29.6%). These preferences highlight trends in consumer behavior towards established digital payment solutions.

Future App Installations


  • - Installation Intentions: Over half of the respondents (51.4%) who do not currently use the app plan to install it, with most preferring to do so before the project officially begins. Specifically, 28.3% want to install it prior to the launch, while 19.3% are waiting to install it immediately after.
