Held on April 29, 2026, the groundbreaking ceremony signifies the commencement of this public-private partnership (P3) project, which is being led by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) along with partners Plenary Americas, Acciona Concessions, and Sacyr Concessions. The project aims to revamp a critical section of the I-10 corridor that stretches 5.5 miles and plays a key role in facilitating commerce and transportation from California to Florida.

In collaboration with Calcasieu Design Partners, Arcadis is set to provide essential design and engineering support for this ambitious project. Their involvement, along with other notable partners such as Huval Associates, Modjeski Masters, and Jansen Spaans, will ensure the new bridge not only meets current transportation needs but also integrates modern safety and traffic technologies.

The new I-10 Calcasieu Bridge is designed to serve as a gateway to Southwest Louisiana, enhancing connectivity for more than 90,000 daily drivers. Key improvements will include pedestrian and cyclist accommodations, advanced traffic management systems, and upgraded safety features aimed at reducing accidents and traffic congestion.
