LeAnn Morrissey, the founder and Chief Shower Officer of Operation Shower, conceived the program during her uncle's deployment, recognizing the need for communal support during such challenging times.
"While active-duty service members face their own set of hardships abroad, their partners back home take on the invisible weight of running a household, managing finances, and grappling with the mental health toll of separation," says Morrissey.

For some, like Alicia R., a military mom who has attended multiple showers, the experience has been life-changing.
"With my husband gone more than half the time on multiple deployments, Operation Shower gave me a rare gift—a connection with other moms who truly understood the challenges I was facing. That support was life-changing," she shares. Alicia has since gone on to volunteer at 16 different showers, using her experience to help others.
