José Boisjoli Steps Down as President and CEO of BRP Inc.

After a remarkable 22-year tenure at the helm, José Boisjoli has declared his intention to retire by the end of the current fiscal year, concluding an impressive chapter in the history of BRP Inc., also known as Bombardier Recreational Products. His leadership saw BRP evolve from a spin-off of Bombardier to a prominent name in the global powersports market.

In 2003, Boisjoli took on the mantle of President and CEO on the very same day that BRP became an independent entity. His vision has been the driving force behind the company’s rapid growth. Under his stewardship, BRP diversified its product offerings, expanded its dealer and distributor network, and established a robust manufacturing presence worldwide. Today, BRP boasts seven major product lines catering to all seasons, and its market share has tripled over the last two decades.

Reflecting on his tenure, Boisjoli expressed gratitude for the opportunity to shape the company alongside talented individuals who have pushed the limits of innovation. “Leading BRP has never been a job; it's been a work of passion and a true honor,” he stated. He emphasized that the pivotal role of teamwork and collaboration has helped transform BRP into a leader in the powersports industry, changing how recreational enjoyment is perceived and experienced.

Barbara Samardzich, Lead Director of BRP's Board of Directors, praised Boisjoli’s legacy, thanking him for guiding the company through significant growth over the past two decades. She highlighted how his strategic leadership has fostered value creation and meant substantial returns for shareholders.

As part of an ongoing succession plan, BRP’s Board is currently in search of Boisjoli's successor, ensuring continuity in leadership and the implementation of the company’s strategic business plans. Boisjoli will remain with the company until a new CEO is appointed, providing guidance throughout the transition.

Financially, BRP reported a decrease in revenue with its first quarterly results for fiscal year 2026, leading to an upcoming meeting to discuss these developments. Despite the challenges facing the company, Boisjoli's confidence in BRP's long-term viability remains unwavering, substantiating a legacy built on resilience and adaptive growth.

With BRP's future sustained by a strong executive team, stakeholders are optimistic about the incorporation of innovative strategies and the anticipated new leadership that will further the company’s commitment to providing exhilarating recreational experiences to its consumers.

For over 80 years, BRP has celebrated its guiding principles rooted in ingenuity and a customer-centric philosophy. Not solely focused on its existing portfolio, the company is also dedicated to developing electric models, merging tradition with sustainability in pursuit of modern recreational adventures.

As he prepares to transition from his role, Boisjoli leaves behind a powerful narrative of success woven with an enduring commitment to excellence within BRP. The future is bright for the brand he has cultivated, promising exciting endeavors ahead in the world of powersports.
