Adelance's Commitment to Environmental Conservation
Since 2009, Adelance has been dedicated to environmental conservation through various activities. One of the key initiatives is the
Fontaine Green Forest Campaign, which includes a focus on revitalizing red pine forests in Shizuoka Prefecture. This campaign is now in its seventh year and showcases Adelance's commitment to sustainability and ecological support.
On December 9, 2025, and February 3, 2026, Adelance organized planting events at
Shizuoka Prefectural Forest Park in Hamamatsu City. This year,
70 red pines were planted as part of the initiative. The underbrush was cleared in December to prepare for the planting, which was carried out meticulously during the follow-up event in February. Among the participants was Adelance's president,
Hiroaki Suzuki, who took part in the activities for the first time since assuming his leadership role.
The event saw participation from six members from
Entetsu Department Store, adding to the enthusiasm of local corporate engagement. Overall,
65 participants, including those from the community and corporate representatives, came together over the two events, fostering a cooperative spirit.
The Importance of Forest Conservation
Shizuoka Prefectural Forest Park, known for its lush red pine forest, holds significant ecological value and is considered crucial for biodiversity protection. Recognized by the Ministry of the Environment as vital for its biodiversity, the forest had suffered degradation due to various factors, notably a beetle infestation exacerbated by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami. The initial response to this crisis saw a dramatic decline in the red pine population in the park. However, since 2019, Adelance has taken the lead among private enterprises to support the restoration efforts.
Suzuki shared his excitement and pride in participating in the planting initiative, praising the favorable weather that allowed for a successful turnout. He expressed a desire for international subsidiaries to partake in similar projects in the future, aiming to broaden the impact of these efforts. He stressed the importance of environmental health in supporting
Quality of Life (QOL) initiatives.
Corporate Social Responsibility at Adelance
As part of its
CSR strategy, Adelance intertwines social and environmental responsibilities with its business operations. The
Fontaine Green Forest Campaign not only encourages the collection of unused wigs but also reinvests sales to facilitate the planting of trees. This innovative recycling initiative aligns with sustainability goals, having resulted in the reforestation of
28,389 square meters since inception. Each year, the campaign broadens the reach of its environmental impact.
In 2019, a tripartite agreement was formed between Adelance, Shizuoka Prefecture, and
Tsubalu no Mori company, enhancing the gravity of their joint efforts towards sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.
A Broader Commitment to SDGs
Adelance recognizes the necessity of contributing to the
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by addressing urgent global challenges through its business model. The company actively engages with these priorities, striving to foster a sustainable ecosystem that benefits future generations.
With a core mission encapsulated in their slogan,
“Everything for a smile,” Adelance aims to perpetuate a cycle of positivity, producing not only superior wellness products but also meaningful contributions to the environment. As they nurture the growth of these young pines, both the company and its employees continue to evolve alongside them, creating a lasting legacy of environmental fellowship.
This year’s efforts have only solidified Adelance’s place as a leader in corporate responsibility, demonstrating that sustainable practices are not just beneficial for business but essential for nurturing the community and environment. As they look toward the future, Adelance is committed to expanding its efforts, ensuring a greener, healthier planet for all.
