Cat Lift Trucks Continues Partnership with Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has announced an exciting decision to extend its partnership with Cat® Lift Trucks and its local dealer, DARR Equipment Co., reinforcing its commitment to maintaining efficient operations for this iconic event. This collaboration, first established over 20 years ago, will continue until 2029, showcasing the importance of dependable equipment in managing one of Texas’s most significant cultural celebrations.

Chris Boleman, the president and CEO of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "The magnitude of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo requires a reliable network of equipment to ensure the operations of our event run smoothly— a mission made possible by hundreds of forklifts working behind the scenes." This reflects the strong alignment of values between the Rodeo and Cat Lift Trucks, emphasizing family, teamwork, and operational efficiency.

Over the years, nearly 190 lift trucks have been leveraged at NRG Park—home to the Rodeo—throughout the year and especially during the fast-paced six-week preparation for the event. The partnership is vital to building and operating the Rodeo's temporary setup. Every structure, barrier, stall, and workspace within NRG Park is temporary, necessitating high-quality equipment. Large-capacity forklifts play a crucial role in moving off-season shipping containers, positioning portable facilities, and relocating cement barriers to create safe pedestrian areas. Additionally, medium-capacity lifts are used to transport and arrange metal and steel panels for constructing animal stalls across the site. Smaller forklifts help with daily operations, managing increased deliveries and ensuring the area remains clean and functional.
