Gavin Christensen Takes Leadership as NVCA Board Chair for 2026-2027

Gavin Christensen as the new Chair of its Board of Directors for the 2026-2027 term. This marks a significant moment in the venture capital landscape, as Christensen, who is also the
Founder and General Partner at
Kickstart, assumes the role with a vision to promote a more inclusive and collaborative venture capital environment.
A Vision for Collaboration
Christensen is widely recognized for his instrumental role in cultivating the
Mountain West as a notable startup ecosystem in the United States. At Kickstart, he pioneered innovative approaches to venture investing, effectively leveraging a broad network of founders, operators, and investors to bolster high-growth companies. His work has been influential in shifting the venture capital industry toward a more distributed and accessible model.
As NVCA President and CEO
Bobby Franklin stated, _"Gavin brings a deeply networked and collaborative approach to venture capital that reflects where our industry is headed. Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), who served as the NVCA Chair for 2025-2026. Agarwala was noted for her efforts in enhancing member engagement and her proactive stance on pro-innovation policies, leaving behind a substantial legacy.
