Odakyu Real Estate Wins Leading Company Award
Odakyu Real Estate Co., Ltd., based in Shibuya, Tokyo, has made headlines by winning multiple awards, including the prestigious
Leading Company Award, at the
Tokyo Eco Builders Awards 2025. This annual event, organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, recognizes businesses that excel in promoting eco-friendly construction practices. In total, Odakyu secured three awards across five categories, emphasizing its leadership in sustainable housing.
Highlights of the Awards
At this year's awards, Odakyu showcased its outstanding performance in the following areas:
- - Leading Company Award: In the subdivision and rental sector.
- - High Standard Plus Award: For insulation and energy-saving performance as well as renewable energy equipment installation.
- - High Standard Award: Also for insulation and energy-saving performance and renewable energy equipment installation.
The recognition primarily highlights the company's innovative
LEAFIA住宅 (housing) series, which has been developed to provide sustainable and comfortable living environments in the Tokyo and Kanagawa areas.
Award Criteria
The Tokyo Eco Builders Awards aim to encourage businesses to participate in the
Building Environmental Reporting System, which promotes the dissemination of environmentally friendly buildings. The awards consider companies that actively engage in sustainable practices. Odakyu was notably recognized for achieving a
100% ZEH (Net Zero Energy Housing) ratio in homes supplied in the 2024 fiscal year, alongside standardizing the installation of
200V EV charging outlets. Furthermore, the company has been focusing on customer education by utilizing
BELS evaluation certificates and energy performance labels to make environmental performance easily understandable. They have even developed online tools to explain ZEH homes effectively.
Commitment to Sustainability with LEAFIA
Odakyu Real Estate aims to significantly reduce CO2 emissions in line with its goal of achieving
carbon neutrality by 2050. In 2022, the company registered as a ZEH builder and set ambitious targets for a
50% ZEH ratio by 2025. Starting from 2023, they have began providing homes that meet ZEH standards, successfully reaching their 100% ZEH ratio goal in 2024. Additionally, they focus on incorporating eco-friendly features like EV outlets, delivery boxes, and water-saving fixtures into their new constructions.
The
CLR (Clear) Project, set to launch in 2024, is another crucial initiative that aims to engage customers in the reduction of CO2 emissions through efficient building designs and practices, promoting a carbon-neutral society.
