Randstad Inc., a comprehensive human resource service provider based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has earned the highest rating, Gold, for five consecutive years in the 'PRIDE Index 2025', an evaluation metric for LGBTQ+ initiatives in the workplace. Furthermore, the company has been awarded the 'Rainbow' certification for three consecutive years, recognizing its contributions to understanding and advocating for LGBTQ+ rights through cross-sector collaboration. Committed to becoming the world's most equitable and specialized human resource service firm, Randstad will continue to promote the importance of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDI&B) and contribute to the creation of an inclusive environment across society.
Randstad's Mission for EDI&B
Randstad prioritizes EDI&B and actively engages in initiatives that create collective impact both internally and externally. In the 2025 fiscal year, we will enhance activities by the Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) comprised of LGBTQI+ individuals and allies by continuing a diverse range of internal and external initiatives aimed at creating collective impact.
Participation in Pride Events
Randstad has proudly displayed its commitment to the LGBTQ+ community by participating in various pride events, including a booth at Tokyo Rainbow Pride 2025 for the fourth consecutive year, and at Kyushu Rainbow Pride 2025 for the third time. At the inaugural 'Tokyo Pride 2025 Youth Pride', our ED&I Manager participated in a roundtable discussion under the theme 'At the Forefront of Corporate Diversity!'. In Kansai, we made our debut at 'Osaka Rainbow Festa! 2025', presenting a mini-talk session themed around 'Working as an LGBTQ+ Individual' in a podcast format, marking a new initiative for audiences.
Advocacy through Collaboration with Diverse Organizations
Randstad is dedicated to promoting EDI&B through partnerships with various external organizations. Collaborating with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Dutch companies in Japan, we have conducted multiple webinars on themes such as 'Unconscious Bias' and 'LGBTQ+ Inclusion'. We also published the 'Inclusion & Belonging Global Report 2024' (in Japanese), which includes Japanese case studies showcasing ERG activities related to LGBTQI+. Additionally, Randstad is involved in the 'Pride Action 30' initiative, committed to continuously pursuing inclusive EDI&B practices.
These comprehensive efforts have earned Randstad high recognition, leading to consecutive awards of Gold for five years and Rainbow for three years, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to ensuring equitable opportunities for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
Commentary from Naoko Dobashi, Manager of ED&I / Employer Branding

About the PRIDE Index
The PRIDE Index was established in Japan in 2016 by 'work with Pride', and serves as an evaluation methodology for the initiatives of companies and organizations aimed at creating a workplace where sexual minorities, including LGBTQ+, can thrive. It consists of five criteria: Policy, Representation, Inspiration, Development, and Engagement/Empowerment, with points awarded based on specific requirements to achieve recognition as Gold, Silver, or Bronze levels.
About Rainbow Certification
Rainbow certification evaluates organizations that promote their LGBTQ+ and sexual minority initiatives beyond their own boundaries, fostering collaboration across sectors with governments, academic institutions, NGOs, and more.
About work with Pride
The nonprofit organization work with Pride supports the promotion and establishment of diversity management related to LGBTQ+ in organizations. They host an annual LGBTQ+ conference for HR, human rights, and diversity practitioners, and manage the 'PRIDE Index' and 'Rainbow Certification'. For further details, visit
