The Unpredictability of Harvest Seasons

The recent climate crisis has drastically altered the predictability of agricultural production. Traditionally, Palsystem worked closely with farmers to schedule harvests in line with their catalog planning. However, the realities of climate change have increasingly disrupted these schedules. Farmers, even those with extensive experience, now often find it difficult to determine optimal harvest times, with cases arising where crops are ready for harvesting weeks earlier or later than expected due to abnormal weather patterns.

The logistical challenges of creating catalogs several months in advance means that flexibility in responding to shifting harvest schedules is compromised. If farmers miss their singular annual harvest opportunity due to unpredictable conditions, it poses a significant financial risk under the pressures of escalating production costs and climatic shifts. Consumers will benefit from lower prices compared to ordering fruit individually, and they may also receive products that meet Palsystem’s eco-friendly agricultural standards, including organic offerings or produce cultivated under their unique “Eco Challenge” guidelines.
