Grand Opening of TOKYO BANYANA COOKIES
On July 17, 2025, a new craft cookie brand,
TOKYO BANYANA COOKIES, will officially open its doors at JR Tokyo Station, developed in collaboration with
CHOCOLATE Inc. This exciting venture merges sweet treats with character design, inviting visitors into a world where whimsical cat-like figures, known as
banyana, play a central role.
Meet the New Character
The brand introduces a charming new mascot,
banyana, a delightful feline with a playful twist on the traditional concept of 'banana'. These characters are portrayed as adorable and slightly clumsy cats who reside in the fantastical world of
NEKOTOKYO. Their story unfolds in the bustling environment of Tokyo Station, where they enjoy life atop cat towers filled with treats. This lively backdrop serves as an immersive experience for guests who visit the store.
Craft Cookie Experience
TOKYO BANYANA COOKIES emphasizes a unique theme of blending pastries with character-driven narratives. Those who enter the store can expect an immersive experience, as if the
banyana are present with them. With every bite, customers can savor not just the cookies but also the entire world that the characters represent.
Simon, a spokesperson from CHOCOLATE Inc., expressed excitement over the collaboration: “The idea of creating a character that resembles a cat's tail, reflecting our brand ethos, has been a creative highlight for us. We look forward to presenting a delightful combination of flavors and stories to our customers.”
Quality Ingredients and Unique Flavors
At
TOKYO BANYANA COOKIES, quality is paramount. The cookies are made using carefully selected ingredients, including:
- - Fermented butter from Hokkaido
- - Flavor-enhancing wheat
- - Softening sugar that ensures a delightful melt-in-your-mouth experience
These components combine to create cookies that are fluffy and crispy, each baked to resemble the shape of a cat’s tail, reflecting the brand’s whimsical identity. Among the unique offerings are cookies in various flavors, each represented by a corresponding cute
banyana character.
