AlphaESS Secures Tier-1 Energy Storage Manufacturer Recognition

In a remarkable achievement, AlphaESS has maintained its status as a Tier-1 energy storage manufacturer for the fifth consecutive quarter as recognized by BloombergNEF (BNEF) in the fourth quarter of 2026. This repeated acknowledgment underscores AlphaESS's credibility and sustained success in the energy storage sector on a global level.

The latest evaluation by BNEF introduced more stringent criteria concerning bankability. Suppliers are now required to demonstrate project experience supported by non-recourse financing from at least two commercial banks for eligible projects. AlphaESS continuously being included in this prestigious list provides developers, investors, and EPC partners with a reliable benchmark when assessing potential energy storage providers.

Expansion of Large-Scale Energy Storage Projects in Europe

AlphaESS is actively advancing large-scale energy storage projects throughout Europe. Recent developments include substantial projects in Lithuania, Austria, and Germany, totaling an impressive 200 MWh. In Lithuania, a notable energy storage project with a capacity of 120 MWh, featuring the innovative Aster 5000 system from AlphaESS, has successfully passed the factory acceptance test (FAT) and is now ready for shipment.

In Austria, AlphaESS supplied the DC-side battery system for a 30 MW/60 MWh project in Hörsching. This project benefits from the integration of solar energy generation, energy storage, and electric truck charging infrastructure. It provides crucial grid services alongside emergency backup power, with the 40 MWh grid service capacity having already started operations as of September 2026.

Meanwhile, in Germany, AlphaESS is delivering the DC-side battery system for a 20 MWh project in Bavaria, designed for frequency regulation and energy arbitrage, with commissioning scheduled for 2027.

Innovative Aster 5000 Technology

To complement its utility-scale energy storage portfolio, AlphaESS introduces the Aster 5000, a liquid-cooled battery storage system housed in a 20-foot container, capable of offering around 5 MWh of capacity per unit.
