National Campaign Launched to Locate Kevin Verville Jr., Missing Since 1980
On July 1, 2025, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), in collaboration with GSTV, has initiated a significant nationwide campaign aimed at locating Kevin Verville Jr., who was abducted as a baby from Oceanside, California, in 1980. This month-long initiative marks an essential step in raising awareness about Kevin's case and potentially reuniting him with his family after 45 long years of searching.
The campaign will feature a newly released age-progression image created by a forensic artist at NCMEC, illustrating what Kevin might look like today. This image will be broadcast across GSTV's extensive network, which reaches over 29,000 fuel retailers in 49 states, providing an invaluable opportunity to engage a wide audience and garner critical leads.
Kevin was just 17 days old when an unknown woman, claiming to be from an organization assisting military families, approached the Verville family. Luring Kevin's mother into her vehicle under false pretenses, the woman drove them to her supposed office, where she then sped away with the infant. Since that devastating day, Kevin's family has endured a journey filled with unimaginable pain and uncertainty, always hoping for news of his whereabouts.
Angeline Hartmann, director of Communications at NCMEC, stated, "Kevin's family has endured 45 years of unimaginable pain, believing his case was forgotten. Now, with national attention, there's real hope for answers." With this campaign, NCMEC implores the public to recognize the significance of their awareness and involvement in search efforts. They believe Kevin could be anywhere in the country, possibly living under a different identity, unaware of his past as a kidnapped child.
GSTV's commitment to this cause underscores the urgency and importance of the campaign. Violeta Ivezaj, senior vice president of Business Operations at GSTV, shared, "It’s beyond heartbreaking for a family to live without knowing what has happened to their child. Our partnership with NCMEC has allowed us to assist other missing children and we hope this national spotlight can bring resolution to Kevin's family."
In tandem with this nationwide outreach, GSTV has been featuring missing children's cases monthly on their screens in 25 states since 2019. The success of previous campaigns reinforces their hope for tangible results in this major national effort.
To get involved and support the campaign, individuals are encouraged to monitor GSTV locations throughout July, where Kevin's story and his age-progressed image will be prominently displayed. Additionally, anyone with information regarding Kevin's whereabouts should reach out to NCMEC at 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678).
