How Will New Pricing Affect Everyday Convenience for CHARGESPOT Users?

CHARGESPOT Launches Pricing Test Marketing in Kyushu

As part of its innovative efforts, INFORICH Co., Ltd., which operates the mobile battery-sharing service CHARGESPOT™, has announced a large-scale pricing test marketing campaign. Starting June 15, 2026, this initiative will take place exclusively in the Kyushu region. Rather than a temporary discount campaign, this project is a strategic experiment based on data analysis and user insights to redefine service usage fees and understand behavioral changes among users.

Background of the Project: Redesigning the Pricing Structure

CHARGESPOT has been implementing gradual price adjustments to enhance user convenience and expand infrastructure through to 2024. However, analysis of user behavior revealed challenges that affected retention and usage behavior post-price change. In 2025, INFORICH decided to test a revised entry price to make the service more accessible, which resulted in a noticeable increase in new user registrations.

Analysis of user patterns revealed that not just the price itself but also the pricing structure and rental duration greatly impact user behavior. The company concluded that providing an experience where users can rent and return batteries naturally, without excessive concern for time limits, requires an optimal balance of time and pricing design. Thus, this experiment is designed to validate the hypothesis that price optimization can significantly increase everyday convenience and expand users' operational range.

Kyushu was chosen for the test due to its representation of Japan's population demographics and urban-rural balance, making it an ideal location for accurate data extraction.

Objective of the Project: Measuring Behavioral Changes Brought by Pricing Adjustments

The primary goal of this initiative is to visualize the social impact of the new pricing on user growth and changes in convenience in daily life. During the validation period, substantial media promotions, including regional television commercials and extensive outdoor advertising efforts in major stations and transportation networks, will be deployed to maximize service awareness and usage.

Additionally, data from the experiment—such as the number of new users, usage frequency, and retention rates—will be analyzed to inform future pricing strategies and infrastructure deployments not only across Japan but also in global markets.
